Our Ancestors believe that Surpanaka saw Rama in the forest, while he was in exile, accompanied by his wife Sita and his brother Laxmana, and fell in love with him. She transformed herself into a beautiful woman and tried to get Rama to marry her, but he refused, since he was already married to Sita. Enraged, she resumed her natural form and tried to kill Sita. Laxmana defeated her in battle, but, obedient to Rama's command, he did not kill her. Instead, he cut off her nose and ears, deeming the humiliation sufficient punishment for her attempt to kill Sita. So this place was named Supa . at this celebration of Lord Rama’s festive began. There was a river named Kali in supa. Due to the continuous flow of river Kali , Geotechnical engineer decided to buid a dam across it to generate electricity.
